However you landed here, welcome — this is the best place to begin with me. Everything I offer starts with listening to the longings of your heart. Below is a free meditation that helps you rest enough to hear what your heart really wants, plus a few gentle ways to stay with that listening before you choose what comes next.

Regulate your nervous system when the day is hard

This is one of the practices I return to most in mentorship — a short guided audio to help your body settle when your mind will not slow down. It is not about fixing anything. It is about finding enough ground to stay with what is already here.

Why rest comes first

When your nervous system is loud, the longings of your heart are easy to miss — or to chase in directions that are not really yours. Most of us were never taught to pause long enough to feel what is true underneath the noise.

This meditation is not a shortcut to feeling better. It is a few minutes of permission to land: breath, body, and enough quiet that what you actually want can speak without being edited or rushed. That is the same ground I hold in mentorship — and it is where every other conversation with your life begins.

This may be for you if

  • Your body feels wired or exhausted, even when your calendar says you should be fine.
  • You are in grief, transition, or a season when life has gone quiet inside — and you are not sure what you are allowed to want anymore.
  • You sense longing under the surface — for love, truth, rest, or a life that matches your heart — and you want a gentle way to listen before you decide anything.
  • You are new here and want something practical you can return to on ordinary days, before the book, mentorship, or a longer essay.

About

Hey, I'm Jessica.

You might know me from Instagram as @thefeminineheart, where I talk about grief, loss, and what it takes to stay with a life that has gone quiet inside. Or you may have read my words on Substack — the same writing, with a little more room to breathe.

For me, writing is not decoration. It is how I process what I cannot think my way through — and that processing is what keeps me most alive in this life. I am not trying to fix the feeling or finish it. I stay with it long enough to put it into words.

That is the work I offer, too: companionship through the writing, the reading, and the ordinary days in between. I guide people through that process in essays on Substack, in a book that is coming soon, in one-on-one mentorship when a spot opens, and when I am invited to speak — reach out here for podcasts, events, and partnerships. I show up in the work — you meet me there.

I studied human development and psychology at Harvard and spiritual psychology at USM, and I'm completing a doctorate in depth psychology.
